Description

This trail is a connecting trail between Rough Creek Trail and Big Frog Trail. This trail is part of the Big Frog Wilderness. Groups in this area are restricted to a maximum of 12 people.

Steepness: Much of the grail has grades of 20% or steeper. Length: Trails are usually more than 8 miles, but short, steep trails may be included. Surface: Trail is most likely rocky, with uneven footing. May include many stream crossings.

Camping is available at Thunder Rock Campground. Visit the Ocoee Whitewater Center, site of the 1996 Olympic Canoe/Kayak competition. It is located on Highway 64, 6 miles west of Ducktown. Many other trails are located within the Big Frog Wilderness. For more recreation opportunities, visit the Ocoee/Hiwassee Ranger Station or the Cherokee National Forest web site below.

Sight Information: Trail Number 69. Hike 3.2 miles to the Fork Ridge Trail.

Site Amenities: Parking available but limited to 5 vehicles.

Safety: Consider wearing hunter orange during hunting season.

Requirements: No motor or mechanical devices in wilderness. Hiking only.
