Description
Come see the one-of-a-kind collection of folk artist C.E. Blevins: retired minister, teacher, and missionary. For fourteen years he has been creating the most vast collection of exact bird egg replicas in the world. From the smallest hummingbird to the Elephant Bird of Madagascar, each egg is handmade and painted specific to over 1,200 wild birds. The museum building is situated on four acres adjacent to the Cohutta-Chattahoochee Scenic ByWay in beautiful rural Whitfield County north of the city of Dalton. The Avian Learning Center is currently taking reservations for group tours. We now give a full 2 to 3 hour tour with three kid friendly activities: A Bird Identification Habitat Trail (for ages 5-14), Painting Your Own Bird Eggs and Building Your Own Nests (ages 5-14), and The Science of Eggs (ages 12-17).
