Laced by rivers, edged by lakes and framed by the Great Smoky Mountains, Knoxville is part urban hub complete with cultural attractions and part portal for adventure on nearby peaks.
East Rim Viewpoint Scenic Drive runs through mixed conifer forests interspersed with meadows changing to ponderosa pine and pinyon-juniper along the north side of the Grand Canyon. The viewpoints provide panoramas of House Rock Valley, Vermilion Cliffs, and Marble Canyon. The East Rim Viewpoint overlooks North Canyon and the Saddle Mountain Wilderness.
The Forest Service Roads are gravel suitable for passenger vehicles in dry weather.
