Description

This trail wanders through the Big Frog Wilderness, ending at the intersection of Yellow Stand Lead trail and Big Frog trail. This area offers some of the best secluded hiking conditions. Groups in this area are restricted to a maximum of 12 people.

Steepness: Much of the grail has grades of 20% or steeper. Length: Trails are usually more than 8 miles, but short, steep trails may be included. Surface: Trail is most likely rocky, with uneven footing. May include many stream crossings.

Located entirely in the wilderness, Grassy Gap Trail connects the Wolf Ridge and Big Frog Trails. Several dispersed campsites are available near the trail. Please observe wilderness rules when visiting this area.

Trail Information: Trail Number 67. Trail is also known as Barkleggin Trail.

Site Amenities: The Wolf Ridge trailhead has parking. A bulletin board offers trail information.

Safety: Consider wearing hunter orange during hunting season. Requirements: No motor or mechanical devices in wilderness. Hiking only.
