Crowned by craggy Appalachian peaks and shaded by verdant forest, Great Smoky Mountain National Park is an expansive playground for nature-lovers and outdoorsy types.
Long Bridge Trail begins on Pigeon Roost Road and runs to Noxubee Hill Road. The trail runs gradually downhill through open mature pine and hardwood forest to a creek bottom. This is a large creek and the longest bridge in this trail system crosses the creek. The trail continues through pine woods in the bottomland and along the edge of a creek before crossing another small bridge and beginning a sharp climb through a pine forest back into the hills and N oxubee Hill Road.
