Description
The Phillips Creek Recreation Area is located in Wise, Virginia, 5.5 miles west of Pound. It has a sandy beach area for swimming and many shelters for picnics. There are also trails for hiking and fishing is available along Phillips creek. The Phillips Creek Loop Trail is a self-guided trail with many attractions along the way such as an old still site, a waterfall along a high sandstone cliff, and an old Indian hunting camp. The trail is approximately 1.3 miles long and is easy to hike with slopes less than 20%.
